Speculative Design: A tool to address women's safety in the public environment

Using speculative design, I explore the relationship between women's safety and the public environment, focusing largely on gender-based public sexual harassment. I developed a process of engagement to produce wild, speculative outputs that allow for different types of discussions. From carrying out this process, I have designed a range of outputs that span different forms to spark conversations, and each output resembles a different concern raised by separate women. My hope is that by addressing the issue from a number of different angles, this project will encourage conversations that can influence policy change, employment laws, architectural developments and all other areas where the issue of women's safety permeates our society.
