An Expression of Healing

Mistreatment and harassment of women is an issue that exists in our world in a maximised capacity, with many struggling to heal and move on from resulting trauma. The aim is to create a bond of sharing and comfort, generating a perception of healing. Our bodies allow us to express our emotions and inner feelings in a manner that sometimes cannot be communicated in the same way through words.

The photographs are a product of an event of participatory design focused on storytelling and healing from the repercussions of mistreatment, done through body language, facial expressions and gestures. The shared experiences expressed through non-verbal communication examine the notion of care and empathy felt. The publication contextualises and furthers the point of community and value within our bodies.
