Exploring the role of the neo-luddite in 2022, this is a project that seeks to break and remake technologies that take us away from what it means to be human. We view this time as a period of mass psychosis and addiction as a result of the capitalist entanglement with technology. This perspective creates a perpetual nihilistic and individualistic state through which we are experiencing current events and phenomena. This project draws on how this time might be seen within the context of a speculative future, gaining a more objective view of the absurdities of techno-capitalist-nihilism. My output or 'Neo-Luddite Object' is designed as a mechanism to unlearn our reliance on technologies and become aware of the ways in which they are oppressive operators of 21st-century society, communicating this through both action and narrative.
