PROHIBITED: SMELLS

The smell of the foggy night at 3am.
The scent of ladies' hairspray makes me miss my grandma.
I love it when I face smells coincidently in my daily life.

Different scents bring back memories. Sometimes a smell can make me happy or sad. Every time I experience a certain smell, something happens to me. This is how powerful smells are in my life.

I realised that people do not recognise the importance of the sense of smell.

Why don't people have an interest in the sense of smell and find it difficult to approach?

According to the 'hierarchy of senses', sight is the most essential sense, while smell comes last. People find it difficult to talk about the perception of smell across all cultures and languages because it's the 'mute sense'.

I feel sad about smell not being appreciated and I wish for those who do not have a special bonding with smells to feel the connection that I do.

Hence, I created a short film showcasing a world without smells. The film's purpose is to let people experience life with limited smells, which will compel them to see how precious and interesting smells are in their everyday lives.

Unknown creatures come out from nowhere and attack people. 'It' smells humans from a hundred miles away, and 'it' hunts humans down. People are dying, and society and the familiar world we knew are now gone. The only way to survive is to not let smell enter 'Its' nose. People use natural smells to camouflage. No chemical, artificial or human smells are allowed in any circumstances. The only way to survive is to stop spreading smells.
